Hairy foot of beast
black nails
fur betwix each claw
desperate beast
three legs loose
one leg trapped
pinned to the earth
clamped down in pain
fangs in the moonlight
help help help
birds fly by
cricket walks by
wind blows
beast trapped
underneath trees with plastic limbs and leaves
stars dangling on cotton twine
cardboard sticks and pottery shards
poor beast who once so fearsome
cannot help himself
he must wait on the mercy
mercy from above
float down
float down on me
save me
and save the wretched beast
