"The Drive By"

Today I rode my used new bike. I rode down Bouldercrest road and off the road and then over some mud.
I was waiting to get back on the road and go back home when all of the sudden I heard screaming and I was covered in red liquid.
It happened so fast but I realized I had been hit by a flying cup of ice and red juice. I looked up and saw a older model Nissan sedan with 3 or 4 boys inside. They were yelling. I could have done a lot of things but I just waved. I am glad it did not hit me in the face or was glass or a rock. I rode on back home not knowing how I felt. I decided I would jog a little. So I went back out. I was about a quarter mile from my house and I saw a handful of ice cubes go flying past me accompinied by a yell. It was the Nissan again. They missed me this time. I did not know if I was stupid or they were. I came back home after my run and washed the red juice off but I still do not know how I feel about the situation. For some reason I thought of these verses. --------------------------

13"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

In recent months I have read reports of the following animals doing bad things to humans...
Chimpanzees, Tigers, Bears, Wolves, Sea Lions, Sharks, Elephants, and now Lions.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa - The owner of a game reserve was mauled to death by a pride of lions Friday as helpless paramedics looked on.

The South African Press Association reported that paramedics called to the Krugersdorp Game Reserve, near Johannesburg, could only watch as lions attacked Dirk Brink, 58.

"It was extremely dangerous for them to approach," said Mark Stokoe, spokesman for emergency rescue service Netcare 911.

"Paramedics could not attend to him immediately and they had to wait for game rangers and police to chase the lions away," he said.

This took a "significant amount of time," he said, adding Brink was dead by the time he could be approached.

"The attack was very bad. The door to his car was open when we got there and it appears the lions dragged him to the bushes before attacking him," he said.

Green?

I am really tired of everything on the television being called "green" .Green is "in" they say. Seems like they are trying to sell me something. I really do not need anything they have to sell. I took this picture of the sky two nights ago. Seems pretty nice to me and I am not worried about my carbon footprint.

Snake, Dog, Deer, Hotdog

Snake Dog Deer. That is what I saw when I ran today. All were dead. Dead dog. Dead snake. Dead deer. But I kept running. Then I got on my new old used bike and went some more. I feel better now. I saw an old man and he was laughing at me. I hollered back at him and kept on going. There is a preacher man on television talking about a healthy way to live. I think he must weigh 350 pounds. He was upset when he learned that hotdogs are processed foods. Are diet cokes healthy?

Dog Food Recall

Dear local evening news,
I understand the importance of a food recall. I understand that a pet dying is sad and traumatic. I understand the news media wants to report on these matters. But I don't understand the necessity to show lingering close ups of dog food. Dog food being poured into a bowl. Dog food in great detail. Dog food glistening in the sunlight. Meaty morsels of brownish gray undefinable mess. I do not need to see this during the evening news. I would rather look at the news anchor or just see a stock photo of a dog or cat. It is like when a news story is done about smoking or cigarettes. They always show close shots of people's mouths and lips pursed around a cig. I do not need to see that either. No thanks. I hope the pet food scare is resolved soon. I do not know who takes care of this. But in the mean time, please loose the dog food macro shots.
