Baboon and a handbag

So soon the last day is here. We woke up a little before seven. I walked to the church and took some fruit from the apple tree. Then I met them by the town square. We saw our translator and asked her if she had any change. She said something I did not understand. Thomas bought some milk and honey and pastries. We then asked how to get back to the hotel (Where the baboon lives). Julie dropped her satchel behind the radiator in the coffee shop. "Holy cow!" I screamed. We said our goodbyes after leaving the satchel where it fell. "Who needs a fancy handbag anyway?" Julie said as we walked away. Our driver came to pick us up and now I wait at the airport.

The center of fall

You look up and see the coloured leaves pressed against the blue blue sky.The wind blows and the whisps of clouds
fade in and out of sight. This time of year is a bittersweet season. Falling and death. Colors and various invigorations.
They are mostly of the mental sort. Close your eyes and float above and all you see is a bright carpet void of good or bad. Orange -yellow- red- green. I am below in the thick of it all with the colors and the pain and the busy deep breathes. Here comes the change. Here is the change. No one can stop the change. We only watch it parade past like a small town parade with ragged streamers and balloons and confetti. You can plan and wait and attempt to alter but the change still arrives on time. A high piercing scream into the center of it all. It burns at first but then is your only sense of warmth. Soon the sensation you tried to avoid has become your security blanket. Here comes the change.

Tree people

A truck was following me on the way home tonite at 2 am. It ran off the exit ramp of I-20 and into some bushes. It then later passed me while I was sitting at a red light.
I know 2 am is not a good time to ride on the roads.
You may think it is because of intoxicated drivers but really it is because of the tree people.
Tree people come out after midnight and roam along side of the roads looking for refuse and items they may eat.
They stay in groups of two or three and walk along the roads until 6 am.
Tree people do not look like trees or have wooden limbs but they do live in or near trees.
I would not speak to tree people or look at them directly in the eye.

Draw on your Hand

If you do not have any paper please draw on your hand.

Sometimes at lunch I will draw on my hand.

Sometimes in a meeting i will draw on my hand.

Sometimes in a sauna I will draw on my hand.

I like to draw on my hand.

Tree river Sky

There is a wagon of singers following me. They are pulled by 2 mules. I think one mule is deaf and the other is blind.
Both have long crisp ears. The singers are 3 male and 2 female. All are long haired and the men have full beards.
It doesnt matter where I go they are always there. The wagon in which they ride is old. Looks like it is from the 1870's.
One time I came out of a movie and they were waiting on me. They had been having a summer's picnic. The men wear dark coloured suits with vests and hats. The women are wearing flowing dresses. I do not know their names but one is named Paul.
They often sing of the river of our lives and the clouds which shade us from the holy glow of God. If fully exposed we would surely perish and dry up like a dusty desert riverbed. I do not mind the singers and my dog does not either. I am not sure if she knows they are with us all the time. They have a guitar and an harmonica. I do not know the words to their songs or the melodies. I do not know where they go when I close my eyes. All I know is that they are polite and kind and they follow me when I am awake. I would like to speak with them about this life or the next but they are dedicated to their hymns of life and love and God.

Wooden 45s and Ronnie M

Once in every life
someone comes along
and you came to me
it was almost like song
january through december
we had such a perfect year
then the flames became a dying ember
all at once
you weren't here
now my broken heart
cries for you each night
and its almost like a song
but much too sad to write

my grandma used to have this 45 record
and i would listen to it on the wooden record player
in the spare bedroom as a child

funny how you remember things like that...
and why was a child memorizing ronnie milsap lyrics?

Dust

Dried up. Blew away.
Crack and split.
Dust in a solid form.
Windstorm and fire swirl.
Take and give and take again.
Blue tubes of melody.
Fragrance of thought.
Two forces compete for the same space.
Dried up. Left to wait.
Bread into stones.
Dust into bones.
No one is home.

Taste of fall

Cloudy days that blow the haze away.
You realize the frailty of your life.
I will stay here.
Why won't you answer the phone?
Soapy bubbles floating by my mind.
Here comes the sunshine.
Can we hold hands by the seaside?
I wonder what that bird is thinking.
I am one month behind you.

Rosemary, rice,dark

It is gettting dark sooner.
The temperature is more comfortable.
I am tired of drama on television.
I like the smell of rosemary.
I am not rich.
I like a warm shower.
Self made is better than given.
I like rice.
I have few friends.
60 is the new 40.
That means I am 13.
Why do I work so much if I am 13?

Potroast

I had a really good lunch Saturday.
I wish I had that lunch today.
It was 4000 degrees today outisde.
Why do people always say they could fry an egg on top of a car?
Why dont they say, " I bet I could cook a potroast on that car!"
I have never heard anyone say that.

Sets of Saints

I have started painting 8 saints. I thought I would take a picture of them before I painted any more.
I fell out in the floor today. My legs were made of rubber when I stood up. I fell down and broke my cereal bowl. Pup walked over and stood by my head. Sure is nice of pup. What an odd way to start the day.

Hummingbird Collision

My grandpa told me today that he was in his garage watching the hummingbirds feed.
Two of them started to fight each other and began to fly wildly all around.
The next thing he knew one had flown into the back of his head!

Same guy ?

I have thought about this a long time.
I think that Dr. Neil Clark Warren, of eHarmony, and Adam West, of the Batman TV show are the same guy.
What do you think?

i walked around downtown

sweat on my forehead
shiny windows
1000 feet high
do you look down on me?
cause i never thought poorly
of you
and yours
and i dont have mine
to hold anymore
so i walk around downtown
and i dont make a sound
downtown

Tuberculosis on a rocket

Why is a guy with a lung ailment such a big deal? Doc Holiday had TB and he still rode a horse. Ol' Doc went to Arizona and nobody cared. Why is this dude from Atlanta so important? Man, next time I get chicken pox I am hopping on a flight to China. That will get them worked up. Maybe I will get a broke neck and fly to Moscow. Then they will find out who is in charge around here! This whole deal is not that big of a problem. It does not need to take over all news shows. We don't need a interview with the guy. He doesn't even feel bad. No one is getting TB. Ok? Why not talk about talk about the new Russian and Chinese missles which were announced this week. Missles which are a direct threat to all American's everyday lives. Missles with multiple nuclear warheads. Missles with a threat behind them. Missles that can out run any defense we have. Now...a cough doesn't seem so scary does it?
